The Official Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival is back for the 21st year!
The 21st Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival in aid of Brain Tumour Research takes place on Saturday 6th 2024 at Willen Lake and more than 40 teams are expected to compete over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators. As well as the exciting races, a wide range of bankside entertainment, food stalls and fun activities guarantee a fabulous day out for all the family!

All prices you will see within this online entry form include VAT, please read each section carefully as no refund will be given once your entry is complete.

Terms of Entry
We agree to abide by the festivals rules and entry conditions below. As crew manager I certify that all crew members are water confident and fit to race. I hereby release NewWave Events, the festival supporters and charity including their agents, officials and volunteers for any injury or loss caused through our participation. We compete entirely at our own risk. I also agree that NewWave Events and its festival partners can use my details given here to provide further information on this event and related services by phone, post or email.
Crews
Crews comprise of up to 10 paddlers plus a drummer – squads may be larger (max 15 persons). Crews can be mixed, all female or all male and organisations may enter more than one crew. The minimum age is 16 and no previous experience is required. All crew members must be confident in cold water conditions, wearing light clothing and in moving water and compete entirely at their own risk. BDA qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safety cover are provided by the organisers.Entries
Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. No refunds will be given once an entry has been accepted and there can be no refund if the Festival or racing has to be cancelled due to conditions outside the control of NewWave Events. Please note, participants and spectators must acknowledge the fact that this event is in the public arena and therefore by entering the venue, this may result in the recording of your image which may be used for promotional purposes.
Rules
All crews accepted for entry must abide with the competition rules and entry details. Each crew is guaranteed a minimum of 3 races (subject to conditions).
I hearby confirm that I have read and understand all of the terms of entry above. And that all the information supplied by me is accurate to the best of my knowledge.
Levels of Entry
Informational
Read the entry levels below and decide whether you would like to go for the standard, silver or gold package. If you are entering multiple teams, you can choose a different entry level for each one. There are a limited number of silver and gold entries available.
You will be able to choose the amount of teams and levels of entry following the next steps (All costs include vat).
STANDARD ENTRY - £900
- Dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment
- At least 3 races per crew
- Music and entertainment
- Medals for the top three crews
- Trophies for the top three crews, the best-placed mixed crew (minimum 5 ladies), the crew raising the most money for Brain Tumour Research and the ‘best dressed’ crew
- All full-resolution photographs from the day available digitally
- Everything in the Standard entry plus...
- A £500 donation to Brain Tumour Research
- Company logo on the back of each side of one dragon boat
- Acknowledgment on the Festival website and in the online souvenir programme

Continued...Optional Extras
Private Catering
All crews wishing to have private catering at the 2024 Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival must book this through NewWave Events. It is not permitted for teams to bring their own commercial caterers to
the event as this is against Parks Trust rules and there is not enough space in each team’s marked out 3m x 3m area for additional catering gazebos. Own BBQ’s and alcohol are also not permitted on grounds.
There is only a limited number of plots available for private catering so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Food will be cooked at a nearby BBQ station by our professional caterers and will need to be collected at an agreed time. Priority position for pre-paid crew gazebos will be given to Gold crews and those booking private catering on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that crew gazebos will be situated on the main event field. .
You will receive an acknowledgment and official detailed BBQ order form on receipt of this booking form and deposit, which has been added to the online order summary if checkbox is selected.
Final numbers and your completed detailed BBQ order form are required by 21st June with the balance payable by 28th June 2024 (BBQ requirements form will be sent to you along with the acknowledgment email).
