Step 4 - Payment options

There are three ways in which you can pay to enter the Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival. By default, the online payment is selected. This is the fastest way to secure your place into the festival and it's completely secured by Stripe.

If you wish to make an offline payment by BACS or cheque please choose an alternative option from the below. Please note that your entry is not confirmed until your payment is processed and you receive an acknowledgement email from our team. We will also attach your VAT invoice with the email.
We are currently experiencing issues with our online payments. If you wish to make a payment directly to secure your place in the festival, please select BACS and in the extra information box at the end of the form tell us and our team will call you directly to take payment for your entry.

The Official Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival is back for the 18th year! 

Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival in aid of ACT for Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital takes place on Saturday 7th September 2024 on the River Cam at Fen Ditton and more than 40 teams are expected to compete over the 200m race course, watched by several hundred spectators. The Ditton Meadows location offers a superb venue and, as well as the exciting races, a range of bankside entertainment, food stalls and fun activities guarantee a fabulous day out for all the family!

Terms of Entry

As you are entering the festival as a multi-team entry, please be aware that you are accepting the following disclaimer and terms of entry on behalf of all crews and their respective members.

We agree to abide by the festivals rules and entry conditions below. As crew manager I certify that all crew members are water confident and fit to race. I hereby release NewWave Events, the festival supporters and charity including their agents, officials and volunteers for any injury or loss caused through our participation. We compete entirely at our own risk. I also agree that NewWave Events and its festival partners can use my details given here to provide further information on this event and related services by phone, post or email.

Crews

Crews comprise of up to 10 paddlers plus a drummer – squads may be larger (max 15 persons). Crews can be mixed, all female or all male and organisations may enter more than one crew. The minimum age is 16 and no previous experience is required. All crew members must be confident in cold water conditions, wearing light clothing and in moving water and compete entirely at their own risk. BDA qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safety cover are provided by the organisers.

Entries

Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. No refunds will be given once an entry has been accepted and there can be no refund if the Festival or racing has to be cancelled due to conditions outside the control of NewWave Events. Please note, participants and spectators must acknowledge the fact that this event is in the public arena and therefore by entering the venue, this may result in the recording of your image which may be used for promotional purposes.

Rules

All crews accepted for entry must abide with the competition rules and entry details. Each crew is guaranteed a minimum of 3 races (subject to conditions).

Levels of Entry

Informational

Read the entry levels below and decide whether you would like to go for the standard, silver or gold package. If you are entering multiple teams, you can choose a different entry level for each one. There are a limited number of silver and gold entries available.

You will be able to choose the amount of teams and levels of entry following the next steps (All costs include vat).



STANDARD ENTRY - £840

  • Dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment
  • At least 3 races per crew
  • Music and entertainment
  • Medals for the top three crews
  • Trophies for the top three crews, the best-placed mixed crew (minimum 5 ladies), the crew raising the most money for ACT and the ‘best dressed’ crew
  • Special prize of a Punting Tour along the River Cam courtesy of Let's Go Punting for the crew raising the most money for ACT
  • All full-resolution photographs from the day available digitally
SILVER ENTRY - £2,012

  • Everything in the Standard entry plus...
  • A £500 donation to ACT for Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital
  • Company logo on each side of one dragon boat
  • Acknowledgment on the Festival website and in the online souvenir programme
  • Live commentary shoutouts
GOLD ENTRY - £2,814

  • Everything in the Silver entry plus...
  • An additional £250 donation (total £750) to ACT for Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital
  • Crew gazebo with chairs
  • Full page advert in our online souvenir programme
